• Help your students identify
different types of evidence in
their sources and to assess
whether it really supports the
point that is to be made or not.
When an argument is shown in
isolation, it may be sound and
coherent, but in the course of
a discussion or an even longer
intervention, it may break down.
• Monitor teamwork and help
your students compose a
coherent argument. That means
that the argument contains the
point of view they agree with
and the opinions they disagree
with. You can use the transcripts
to show them a model
using connectives.
• Have your students go back to
previous activities in order to
check the structures used to
express different points of view
in order to write their own.
