Legendary figure Aesop is presumed to have
been born around 600 B.C. and is the supposed
author of a collection of Greek fables. Various
attempts were made in ancient times to
establish him as an actual celebrity. He was most
likely invented to provide an author for fables fables

French poet and writer Charles Perrault was born
in 1628, in Paris. Though he began his career as
a lawyer, Perrault earned a positive reputation
for his poetry. He is perhaps best known for his
Mother Goose fairy tales, including Little Red
Riding Hood and Cinderella, which he wrote for
his children.
