• How to assess websites:
1. Make sure the websites you choose are run by authoritative organizations such as universities,
government agencies or museums.
2. Check that the website has been updated recently. You can usually verify this at the end of the
home page.
3. Confirm that the website is objective. This means it presents more than one side of the subject
and that it is more focused on facts than on personal opinions.
4. Verify that the website is well-designed: that the hyperlinks work correctly and that you can easily
explore it. Well-maintained websites are easy to read and they have no spelling or grammar
mistakes.
