14. Danish, English, Norwegian, Yiddish, Swedish,
Dutch,German, Icelandic, among others, are part
of the Germanic family of languages.
15. French, Romanian, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian,
among others, make up the Romance languages.
16. Slavic languages are composed of Russian, Polish,
Ukrainian, Slovak, Belarusian, Czech, Slovenian,
Macedonian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Croatian,
and others.
17. The Latin alphabetis used in most European
languages, but the Cyrillic alphabet is used in some
Slavic languages. Georgian, Armenian,Greek and
Yiddish use their own alphabet.
18. Almost all of the countries in Europe have several
regional languages or dialects – some of which are
officially ecognized.
19. In Europe, the most widely-used non-European
languages are Arabic, Chinese and Hindi, each has
its own system for writing.
20. There are between 130 and 200 languages spoken,
depending on the criteria, in Russia. It has, by far, the
most native languages spoken in its territory.
21. Because of the number of refugees and migrants
arriving, Europe has become a multilingual
