Activity 25
• Go through the example with
students and ask them what is
going on.
• Ask them some questions about
the dialogue, such as how many
people are participating in it,
why Malala appears
twice, if what Malala says are
two different ways of answering
the questions posed by her
friend or if she says both things
at the same time, among others.
• Elicit why there are two options
and how they are different.
You can also elicit other ways
of responding to the question
from the friend, such as “Do you
know the word for…?”, “What’s
it called when…?”, “I forgot the
name of…”, among others.
• Ask them if they could use them
during their conversation.
• Allow some time for them to
practice their oral testimony and
to use some strategies if they do
not remember something.
