• Tell students that they are going
to perform the dialogue and
that they should decide when to
insert each intervention.
• Explain that they should practice
it several times, varying the
acoustic features: the first time
they are going to say it quickly,
then with a monotonous tone
and, lastly, with the proper
intonation and speed.
• Encourage them to perform it
with other acoustic features and
to decide which is best.
• Allow some time for students
to practice telling their
anecdote and to select the most
appropriate acoustic features.
Activity 32
• Tell students to scan the
conversation about Nadia
Comaneci´s anecdote.
• Encourage them to complete
it by writing the appropriate
questions or statements to make
it natural and fluent.
• Go through the example with
them and let them do the rest.
• Monitor and provide help
when necessary.
• Encourage students to perform the conversation in front of the class.
• Remind students of the importance of practicing telling their anecdote.
